FERNANDO HESTER (IT)
Zooming (2023)

My musical research focuses on the development of a perceptual experience characterized by a fluid or sudden shift through varied sonic landscapes. The stylistic choices employed in my compositions aim to lead the listener through a journey of both estrangement and familiarity, utilizing synthetic and real sounds. Inspired by the
aesthetics and techniques explored significantly by figures such as Iannis Xenakis, Curtis Roads, Autechre and Horacio Vaggione, I incorporate many techniques such as granulation, vocoding, concatenative synthesis, etc.

ADAM STANOVIC (UK)
To US.S..S... (2021)

Over the past ten years, I have been influenced and inspired by the works of my various students and colleagues in the University of Sheffield Sound Studios (USSS) (UK). In early 2022, I left Sheffield’s music department, and this piece was my parting ‘gift’: an homage to my amazing colleagues, students, and friends. To US.S..S… is, in a sense, my view on where acousmatic music is going; a blending, fusing, integration of ideas old and new, clichéd and novel, emerging and disappearing… In my postmodern ‘toast’ to the University of Sheffield Sound Studios (USSS), therefore, please raise your glasses ‘To Us…’ or rather, ‘To USSS…’ or rather, ‘To US.S..S…’.

YU CHUNG TSENG (TW)
Cymorphosis (2024)

Acousmatic and spatial music for multi-channel live diffusion. The source of the work was drawn mainly from the recorded fragments of antique cymbal and Chinese opera cymbal. The Cymorphosis is not absolutely abstract, but oscillates between the real and virtual sound world while the work evolving. As a result, a sense of beauty of Ying and Yang of Chinese philosophy was created. The work was finished on February in 2024 at the Sound Lab at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University in Taiwan (NYCU).
