SAADI DAFTARI (CA)
Unhomed (2024)

Unhomed is a quasi-narrative multichannel acousmatic piece informed by the experiences of bodies in movement, of migration and displacement. It examining questions pertaining to the trauma of leaving home behind, the violence of displacement, the assimilation and the fragmentation of identity and the realities of the double consciousness, of being here and there at once. It is composed to create a dichotomy between a fleeting past whispering in the back, and an ever-approaching present in the front. Two stories that make up the same history, clashing yet eventually merging into a single history.

ARNAU GRAN ROMERO (ES)
Songs to be burnt n°1 (2004)

Electroacoustic composition exploring the dark universe of Isidore Ducasse's work, "The Songs of Maldoror". This piece draws its inspiration from the following words, acting as a preliminary introductory warning to a sonic realm characterized by the monstrous. From a poetic standpoint, this work strives to recreate the multifaceted and psychologically complex aspects defining a character deeply rooted in darkness. In this reality filtered through a disturbed mind, the use of the quotation as compositional material or, more specifically, the recognition of the materiality used holds paramount importance, allowing us to observe how darkness infiltrates and distorts a familiar sonic entity.

DIMITRIS SAVVA (CY)
Tranglitchuilizer_sabe_28523 (2024)

It is a work created exclusively from a 10-second extraction from a live-electronics performance co-created with the Asabe Ensemble in Corfu, Greece. Aesthetically, this composition delves into sound synthesis methodologies and explores glitches, yet it deviates from traditional synthesis techniques to embrace acousmatic music composition practices. This reflection extends to an existential level, experimenting and exploring the idea of creating hectic, fast, intense, and disturbing music that could function as a homeopathic remedy for the frantic pace of everyday life and the tumultuous processes of existence and self-discovery.
