KRAMER ELWELL (USA)
OWN.k (2022)

“A Triptych: Chaos, Constraint, Catharsis” OWN.k is a sequel to another one of my acousmatic works- titled OWN. The precursor was composed in collaboration with choreographer Hillary Richardson for a multimedia dance work by the same name that premiered in New York City in 2017. Like its predecessor, the thematic content of OWN.k explores anxiety and mental health, confronting or compromising with it through its encapsulation in art. Every sound in the work is derived from vocal utterances performed by myself. Rarely are the sounds coherent or consonant. More often they are noisy, undesirable, and gross utterances.
